In particular, Paramount Pictures and Bad Robot Productions are behind the anime’s adaptation into a live-action film. The producers are Abrams (Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens) and Lindsey Weber from Bad Robot along with Genki Kawamura, the producer of the original anime film. The Award-nominated Eric Heisserer (Arrival, Final Destination 5) is penning the script, while Paramount and Bad Robot will work with TOHO to distribute it to Japan.
