Life-size Unicorn Gundam Statue debuts on September 24
After the removal of RX-78-2 Gundam Statue from Shizuoka, the new model named "RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Ver. TWC (Tokyo Waterfront City)" comes to take its place. According to the Gundam.info website, the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Statue will debut in front of the DiverCity Tokyo shopping center on the artificial island of Odaiba on September 24. The statue is 19.7 meters tall and weighs 49 tons as it appears in the Mobile Suit Gundam UC anime and is capable of transforming from normal "Unicorn Mode" to "Destroy Mode". During his debut, a demonstration of his transformation will take place, which includes the movement of parts of the statue in more than 50 positions in its body (including shoulders, knees and back) and lights in the same locations.
The following video illustrates the construction and transformation of the statue:

Like the previous model RX-78-2 Gundam, it also features a giant Wall-G presentation setup that will project videos onto the outer wall of DiverCity Tokyo behind the statue.
The RX-78-2 Gundam, piloted by protagonist Amuro Ray in the first Mobile Suit Gundam series, was presented at Odaiba's Shiokaze Park in 2009 for 52 days. The statue was then relocated to Shizuoka City in 2010, where it stood from July 2010 to March 2011, holding a beam saber in its right hand. In 2012, the statue was dismantled and rebuilt in its last place until it was taken down on March 5. The statue could move its head and open its cockpit automatically, revealing a screen that was placed inside it.
