On Tuesday May 17^th, One Piece Film Gold’s official website revealed the first trailer of the anime movie that will air on July 23^rd. In this trailer, we can see that Luffy and the other Straw Hat pirates will be fighting against a new enemy called Gilde Tesoro.

Tesoro is a casino king and a devil fruit user who has eaten the “Gol Gol” fruit. He controls a huge gold ship, Gran Tesoro. He has a crew consisted of four members. The first one is a quite popular with men singer that seems to somehow know Nami, Carina. The second one is an elegant lady whose role is the concierge to the VIPs visiting area, Baccarat. She has eaten the “Lucky Lucky” fruit and now she can change the luck of whoever she touches. Next one is a gigantic card dealer, Dice. Last but not least, there is another devil fruit user who is in charge of the internal security, Mr Tanaka. He has eaten the “Nuke Nuke” fruit and his powers are quite mysterious.

The trailer previews the movie’s theme song “Ikari o Kure yo” by GLIM SPANKY.  The duo team was chosen by Oda Eiichiro himself. The lyrics of this song are written especially for this movie and are based on Oda’s recommendations. Furthermore, the trailer reveals the title of the insert song “Gold & Jive ~ Silver Ocean” by Mayumi Kojima, which will be a "big band swing" song over 10 minutes long.

Oda Eiichiro is the film’s executive producer. He has also designed the various new costumes for the Straw Hat crew for the film, drew the rough drafts for the new characters, and drew the film's first visual. Hiroaki Miyamoto is directing the film and Tsutomu is writing the script. Masayuki Sato designed the characters for animation, and is also serving as chief animation director. Kazuo Ogura is the art director, while Nobuhito Sue is credited for art setting.

Nadaru as Morkin

Kendo Kobayashi, Korokke and Nadaru are comedians, while Arata Furuta is an actor.

 

Ticket pre-orders for the film began in December. Those who pre-ordered tickets for the film will get a calendar featuring Oda's designs for the film. The calendar is limited to 50,000 units.
