One Piece gets live-action Hollywood TV show
Another popular manga has been the target of live-action productions. This time, Eiichiro Oda's One Piece will get a live-action Hollywood TV show by Tomorrow Studios, a partnership between producer Marty Adelstein and ITV Studios (Prison Break, Teen Wolf). The news were was announced at the One Piece 20th anniversary event.
Tomorrow Studios is also preparing a live-action TV series for Cowboy Bebop, as announced a while ago.
Oda launched the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1997. One Piece set a world record in June 2015 for "The most copies published for the same comic book series by a single author". The television anime began in 1999 and until now, various anime television specials, 13 anime films, video games, novels etc has been inspired by its story.
