New Rurouni Kenshin manga launches in September

    

As revealed in the September issue of Shueisha’s Jump SQ., Nobuhiro Watsuki's new Rurouni Kenshin manga titled Rurouni Kenshin: Hokkaido Arc (Rurouni Kenshin, Meiji Kenkaku Romantan: Hokkaido-hen) will be released in the October issue of the magazine on September 4. The release of the manga was originally scheduled for last spring, however, it was delayed to summer.

The central character and protagonist of the new manga series is Kenshin, and will consist of five arcs.

Watsuki launched the Rurouni Kenshin manga in 1994 in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The manga has more than 60 million copies in print and it was adapted into a 95-episode television anime series. Its story has inspired an anime film, three OVA, three live-action films and a theatrical musical.
