Gintama returns to our screens with the "Porori Arc" and as announced on its official anime website, its premiere will take place on October 1. The anime will be released on TV Tokyo, TV Hokkaido, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, and TVQ Broadcasting Kyushu TV channels in Japan.

Meanwhile, a new visual was revealed: 

Blue Encount will perform the new opening song of the series titled "VS", while the all-female group Ayumikurikamaki will perform "Hankō Seimei" (Opposition Proclamation), which will be the ending song.

Hideaki Sorachi launched the manga in 2004 and until today, it is still one of the top-selling manga in Japan, counting over 50 million copies in print. Last July, it entered its last arc.

The first television anime premiered in 2006 and continued (with several extended pauses) until 2013. The 5th and last series of Gintama was released on January 8 and in April a best-of re-run of the series started airing. The manga has also inspired two anime films with the latest Gekijōban Gintama Kanketsu-hen: Yorozuya yo Eien Nare to have been aired in 2013.
