Fairy Tail manga to end in two volumes
Fairy Tail manga is slowly reaching its end, with two more volumes left to be complete. The news were revealed by its creator, Hiro Mashima, in the final notes of the 61st volume, which will be released on May 17. The official website for the Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry anime film had also announced in February that the manga was in the last arc, counting over 60 million copies in print worldwide.
Moreover, Mashima revealed that he plans to start a new project soon and is excited about it. He said he wants to tell a new story with new characters in a new world.
The manga was launched in 2006 and has inspired two television anime series, many OVA and spinoff manga. The first anime film titled Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Priestess premiered in August 2012, while the Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry film was released on May 6.
