After one year hiatus, Yoshihiro Togashi's Hunter x Hunter manga returns on June 26, as revealed by the official website of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. On the same date, the release of the 34th combined manga volume is planned.

The manga went on indefinite hiatus last June, while the magazine stated it would announce the resumption date when it has been decided. Yoshihiro Togashi resumed the manga in April 2016 after a two years hiatus, starting on August 2014. Initially, it was a two-week pause because of the author's health problem, but it was prolonged until April.

In its story, two television anime series, two anime films and several OVAs have been based. The latest anime series started in 2011 and was completed in 2014. The manga has also inspired two smartphone games with the most recent, Hunter X Hunter: World Hunt, launched last February.
