The hiatus of Hunter x Hunter manga comes to an end, as announced by Shueisha's Shonen Jump magazine. The manga returns with a new chapter in the ninth issue of the magazine, which will be released on January 29.

Yoshihiro Togashi's manga went on hiatus last September and he stated that he planned to continue the series before the end of the year. On June 26, Hunter x Hunter returned from a one-year break. Prior to this, the manga was in a two-year hiatus, from August 2014 until April 2016.

In its story, two television anime series, two anime films and several OVAs have been based. The latest anime series started in 2011 and was completed in 2014. The manga has also inspired two smartphone games with the most recent, Hunter X Hunter: World Hunt, launched last February.
