It may have passed more than two years since Black Lagoon manga went on hiatus, however, it is now time to return. According to an announcement made in the January 2017 issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Sunday GX, Rei Hiroe's Black Lagoon manga will resume in spring.

In addition, the magazine reported that Hiroe is preparing a new TV anime titled Re: Creators, which will premiere in 2017. Both the story and the characters design credits are on Hiroe, while the direction of the anime will be handled by TROYCA studio by Ei Aoki (Aldnoah.Zero, Fate / Zero). The two of them work together for the series composition.

The first trailer of Re: Creators will be published when the magazine ships on Monday, while the full promotional video will be posted by Shogakukan and Aniplex on December 29. The first visual illustrates a character with long white hair and red eyes.

Hiroe launched the manga in 2002 in Sunday GX magazine and since 2014, it has been on hiatus. In 2006, two anime series were released by Madhouse and an OVA titled Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood Trail followed in 2010.
