In the 63rd volume of Gintama, it was reported that the manga was approaching its final arc this year. The 32nd issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine will reveal on Monday that the manga is entering its final arc starting with its next chapter. However, Hideaki Sorachi doen’t know yet whether the manga will end this or next year.

Gintama was launched in 2004 and it is ranked among the top-selling manga in Japan, since the copies in print are more than 50 million. Two television anime series have been based on the manga, the first of which aired in 2006 and was completed in 2013 and the second one premiered in April 2015 and was completed in March. Two anime films, OVAs and events were also inspired.
