Geass Code returns with a new project and film trilogy
It's been 10 years since Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion has first appeared as anime series. After two seasons and many spinoff manga, Code Geass returns again, as announced at the event for the 10th anniversary this Sunday. Specifically, it’s getting a new project titled Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection) and a three-part compilation anime film series.
The story of the project takes place a few years after Zero Requiem and the form is not yet announced. The compilation films will be a summary of the previous two seasons Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2. Please note that the films will include new scenes. The original cast returns to their original roles while the first of the three films will premiere in 2017.
The first season Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion premiered in Japan in 2006, followed by the second season Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 in 2008. In 2012, he first of the five parts of Code Geass: Akito the Exiled aired, which is a spinoff OVA with its story evolved between the first and second season. The fifth and final episode opened in theaters on February in Japan.
