The official website for the television anime of Yuuri Eda's Kabukibu! light novel series revealed its staff on Tuesday November 22. The four-creator group CLAMP will be doing the original character designs. The website also presented a visual drawn by them.

Kazuhiro Yoneda will be directing the anime at Studio DEEN. Yoshiko Nakamura will be writing the series' scripts, and Majiro will be adapting CLAMP's designs for animation. The website also revealed that the anime will make its premiere in April 2017 on the TBS and BS-TBS channels.

Kurogo Kurusu is a high school student who loves kabuki (a classic style of Japanese dance-drama that combines music, drama, and dance) too much and yearns to perform kabuki as part of a club at his school. However, his school doesn't have a kabuki club, so he decides to create a kabuki club, and  of course, his first task is to gather members.
