LOKA, triggered by their upcoming world tour, released 2 new singles on the 20^th of January of 2017, titled “SENSE OF CRISIS” and “LET IT DIE-20XX-”. For everybody who’s heard of them, as well as those who have not, LOKA is an alternative, hard rock band whose distinctive traits are electronic sounds and fast beats. Their music is more similar to the American music style, with powerful vocals and digital beats.

Their single “SENSE OF CRISIS” consists of the title track.

This song serves to prove the band’s statement that their music has begun to obtain a more complete form. The mood of this composition is more rock-ish compared to the band’s previous works. The music has smooth but intense shifts that capture the listener’s attention and offer a powerful clarity to the final result. The guitar and the drums have a noticeable presence and so do the vocals, being clear and steady. Overall, it is a liberating song, satisfying till the end and at the same time, it invites the listener to listen to it on repeat.

Their second single “LET IT DIE-20XX-” was made for the PS4 game “LET IT DIE” and it, also, includes only the title track.

This song is reminiscent of the band’s old work. The vocals are fierce, while the music, the bass, the guitar and the drums prevail. The big twist takes place near the end of the track with the sudden appearance of an electronic tune that truly lights up the song. Under different circumstances, the connection of an electronic sound with heavy music would be unfitting, but LOKA mange to find the required balance and the result is quite pleasant. 

LOKA’s music is also appropriate for nighttime parties, apart from their live stages. It’s a modern and energetic band that will only keep on improving as time goes by. These two singles raise the question: which one will be more appealing to the fans?
