Guinness World Record for One Piece manga

The famous One Piece manga entered the Guinness Book marking a big record.

Specifically, since 1997 when the manga was released by Shueisha and until the end of 2014, it has printed the huge number of 320.866.000  copies worldwide.

Eiichiro Oda, happier than ever, commented through a written statement:

“Thank you for this certification for the Guinness World Record. Manga is an amusing way to pass time, but when I receive reports [from readers] that say 'through One Piece I made friends,' or 'through One Piece I found my sweetheart,' I am really happy." He continued by saying, "I feel like this record number has the possibility to bring the same number of people together. I will not forget my gratitude toward my predecessors in the manga world, the colleagues whom I work with, and my readers, and from now on I want to continue to draw a work that will not shame this record.”

For this achievement, Oda made the following illustration with the protagonist Monkey D. Luffy holding the Guinness record in his hands.

We wish him to keep creating and taking us into the seas in the same unique way and every adventure to keep teaching us something different.
