Prequel manga for Psycho-pass
Dark Horse Comics publisher announced on Friday that a prequel manga for Psycho-pass titled Psycho-Pass: Inspector Shinya Kōgami will be released. Having gotten the license of Midori Gotou and Natsuo Sai, the new manga will be written by Gen Urobuchi (Fate / Zero, Puella Magi Madoka Magica). The first volume will be released on November 9, 2016.
The story concerns Kōgami Shinya, revealing how the legendary enforcer was once an excellent detective. He commands a team of enforcers, hunting down latent criminals before they manage to commit their crime. All this in a town supervised by the Sibyl System where people’s tendency for crime is measured in a number called "crime coefficient" or else Psycho-pass.
The original manga was first released in June 2014 in Mag Garden’s monthly Comic Blade magazine by Midori Gotou (story) and Natsuo Sai (art). In 2012 the first anime series premiered, the second season followed in 2014, while the film opened in Japan in January 2015.
