LUNA SEA announced that they intend to release a new studio album by the end of 2017. The announcement was made during the encore of their concert at Nippon Budokan on May 29th, while vocalist RYUICHI reported that the theme of the album will be "love". In fact, he explained that the different forms of love, from warm and tender love to sadistic love, are explored.

This will be LUNA SEA's first studio album after 4 years. The last studio album was released on December 11, 2013 and was titled "A WILL". The title and release date of the new album have not been set yet.
