Miyazaki returns with a new animation film
Although the creator Hayao Miyazaki had retired from directing feature films in September 2013, the joint communications news distribution site 47News (Japan Press Network) revealed that Miyazaki has started preparations for a new animation film! The producer Toshio Suzuki from Studio Ghibli, stated at an event held in the United States that even now, Miyazaki works hard in Tokyo to create the new project.
In September 2013, he had announced his retirement from the production of feature-length films due to concentration issues because of his advanced age. However, he remained at Studio Ghibli, making a short film that will be screened later in the Ghibli Museum. The title of the film is "Kemushi no Boro" (Boro the Caterpillar).
Last August, Miyazaki presented a project proposal for this animation, in order to be transferred as a feature-length film. Although the project had not been officially approved he decided to start work on the animation anyway. However, there is no confirmation that the anime film to be created, is related to "Kemushi no Boro".
Miyazaki made his directorial debut in 1979 with "Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro". Then, he and his partner Isao Takahata, founded Studio Ghibli, following significant works as "My Neighbor Totoro" in 1988 and "Princess Mononoke" in 1997, while movies like "Spirited Away" and "Howl's Moving Castle" were a great success not only in Japan, but also worldwide.
