Green light was given to the production of a new Original Video Anime (OVA) series for Strike the Blood, as announced in the 15th volume of Gakuto Mikumo's light novel. Further details have not been published yet, however, they are expected in the near future. The novel series, currently in circulation, is in the last part of Seisen arc.

The story of Strike the Blood focuses on the protagonist Kojou Akatsuki, who is the most powerful vampire in the world and he is also attending a Japanese high school. A girl named Yukina Himeragi is on a mission to monitor Kojou and his powers.

The novel has inspired an anime series of 24 episodes, which was released in 2013, while a two-episode OVA project was released last November and December. In 2012, the manga began its serialization in Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine.
