Yesterday (May 1^st 2016) Shueisha made an announcement about a new Naruto story novel called Konoha Shinden / Konoha New Story, where the daughter of Kurenai Yuhi and Asuma Sarutobi, Mirai Sarutobi will be the protagonist. The novel is going to take place between Naruto’s last chapter and Naruto Gaiden’s first chapter at a hot spring. Hatake Kakashi and Might Guy will star along with Mirai. The story novel will be a chapter book, not a manga. Unfortunately, there has not been a release date yet.

Till now, there have been ten novels released in Japan. A story about Kakashi, one about Shikamaru, another one about Gaara, a story about Sakura, about Akatsuki, about Sasuke, a story about Jiraiya’s Icha-Icha Paradise, two stories about Itachi, and Konoha Hiden: The Perfect Day for a Wedding. Some of these novels have been translated and released in English.

The illustrator will be Sho Hinata who has written the script of Konoha Hiden: The Perfect Day for a Wedding and has done its artwork with Masashi Kishimoto.
