Gintama returns and new information was released through the official website of the new television anime. The series will premiere on January 9 and a new visual was revealed. 

The direction of the fourth Gintama anime will handle Chizuru Miyawaki, while Shinji Takeuchi returns to the design of the characters and also serves as the chief animation director. Audio Highs is in charge of the music composition and Yoichi Fujita is supervising the anime as he did in the previous three.

The four-member all-girls band ЯeaL will perform the opening theme song titled “Kagerō”, while the ending theme song will be performed by RIZE and is titled "Silver".

Hideaki Sorachi launched the manga in 2004, which entered the last arc in July. The first anime series premiered in 2006 and was completed in 2013 after several pauses. Last season premiered in April 2015 and was completed last March. The manga, also, inspired two anime films, several OVA, events, and a live-action film, which will air in 2017 in Japan.
