Code Geass compilation film trilogy reveals more info

The official Twitter account for the Code Geass project had started a countdown last week. The countdown ended, revealing the new teaser video, visuals, titles and premiere dates for the three films.

The first of the three films is called Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch - Kōdō (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion - The Awakening Path) and will premiere on October 21. The second film is titled Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch - Handō (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion - The Rebellion Path) and will be released in February 2018, while the third film is titled Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch - Ōdō Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion - The Imperial Path) and will open in May 2018 in Japan.

The visuals of the project

The films will recap all the 50 episodes of the two Code Geass anime series. In addition, the cast returns to its original roles as all their lines will be re-recorded and the films will include new scenes.

In addition to the trilogy, two new spinoff projects will be released, which will launch next autumn on the official Yatate Bunko website. The first spinoff is titled Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch Gaiden - Shiro no Kishi, Kurenai no Yasha (Lledge of the Rebellion - Lancelot & Guren) and focuses on stories of Suzaku and Kallen. The second spinoff is titled Code Geass Danshō - Mosaic no Kakera (Code Geass Story Fragment) and focuses on six different protagonists whose lives are influenced and changed by the events of the main story.

Moreover, the Code Geass series will receive a sequel project entitled Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection). Its format has not yet been revealed.

The first anime series titled Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion premiered in 2006, with the second one, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2, following in 2008. The five-part Code Geass: Akito the Exiled OVA is a spinoff of the original anime series, which is set between the two seasons of the series. The first part premiered in 2012, and was completed in February 2016 with the fifth and final part.
