The official website for the television anime of Kugane Maruyama's Overlord novel series posted a new trailer and a 30-second commercial for the second season, Overlord II. The videos reveal new information about the anime, the cast members and premiere, which is slated for January 9.

• Naomi Kusumi as Shasryu
• Sora Amamiya as Crusch
• Kouji Ishii as Zenberu
• Kiyono Yasuno as Renner
• Ryota Ohsaka as Climb

OxT and MYTH & ROID return for the opening and ending song of the series respectively. The opening theme is titled "Go Cry Go" and the ending is titled "Hydra".

Naoyuki Itou returns to the direction of the series with Yukie Sugawara in the composition. Satoshi Tasaki (Rideback, Fairy Musketeers, No Game, No Life Zero) and Takahiro Yoshimatsu are in charge of the character design. Overlord II is produced by Madhouse. 

Maruyama launched the novel series in 2010 and it has surpassed the 2.5 million copies in print in Japan. Its story has inspired a 13-episode television anime series, which premiered in July 2015 and two compilation films. The first was released on February 25 and was titled Overlord: Fushisha no Ō, while the second one, Overlord: Shikkoku no Senshi, followed on March 11.
