A few days ago, we learned that Blue Exorcist returns with a new season in 2017 and we now have more information at our disposal. The countdown on the official website ended, revealing all the information necessary for the new anime series. Shueisha’s Jump SQ magazine also announced in the August issue the main cast, staff and information about the main plot.

The new series will be entitled Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujō Ō-hen (Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Impure King Arc) and will be released in 2017. It is an adaptation of Kyoto Impure King Arc that started in the fifth volume of Kazue Katō’s manga.

The cast of the first season will return including:

Jun Fukuyama as Yukio Okumura

Kana Hanazawa as Shiemi Moriyama

Kazuya Nakai as Ryuji Suguro

Koji Yusa as Renzo Shima

The direction of the series will be taken on by Koichi Hatsumi (Deadman Wonderland, Gangsta., Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I - The Egg of the King), Toshiya Ono will handle the series composition and Keigo Sasaki will return to design the characters. Hiroyuki Sawano along with Kohta Yamamoto will compose the music.
