Pop star and actress Mayu Tomita (former Secret Girls member) was assaulted with a knife by a fan while she was waiting to perform at a concert venue in Tokyo. The culprit stabbed her neck and chest more than 20 times.

The police arrested Tomohiro Iwazaki at the scene of the crime. He has reportedly said he was angry because Tomita had returned a gift he had sent her. It is also said that he mentioned losing his temper when he asked Tomita about the gift but did not receive a clear answer.

Tomita seems to have complained to the police about the fan in the past, when he was making obsessive comments about her on various social media sites. We at Greek Otaku Radio wish Mayu to get well soon and hope her friends and family will be strong and have faith.
