The winners of the 61st Shogakukan manga awards

The Shogakukan Manga Award is one of Japan's major manga awards, sponsored by Shogakukan Publishing. It has been awarded annually for serialized manga since 1955 and features candidates from a number of publishers. The awards have four categories (children manga, shōnen manga, shōjo manga, and general manga), and the winners receive a bronze statue and the amount of 1 million yen (about 7800 euros).

The judging committee of the 61st contest announced on Thursday 21/1 this year's winners and the awards ceremony will be held on March 3 in Tokyo. The 5 winners are:

This year's judging committee includes Kiyoko Arai, Mitsuyo Kakuta, Eiji Kazama, Kaiji Kawaguchi, Kenshi Hirokane, and columnist Bourbon Kobayashi.
