It seems that the success of the first Gintama live-action film will lead to a sequel in 2018. The news were revealed by the director Yūichi Fukuda and the actor Shun Oguri during an event this Thursday. The film will be titled Gintama Part 2 and is scheduled to premiere in summer 2018.

The first Gintama live-action film was released on July 14 and earned 980 million yen (about 7.4 million euros) in the first four days. A live-action net show was based on the film, which debuted one day after the film’s premiere. The film has already had its premiere in Canada, and will also open in the United States, Canada, Germany, Spain, and Central and South America.
