Cardcaptor Sakura gets new Anime Project
Apart from carrying the first chapter of the new Card Captor Sakura serialization, the upcoming issue of Nakayoshi magazine will also be announcing that a «new anime project» is in the works. More information about the anime will be announced when more details will be decided by CLAMP.
As far as it goes for the new manga, its story will take place after our protagonist Kinomoto Sakura graduates from Tomoeda Elementary School and she is a first year junior high school student. One night she sees a mysterious dream and an incident takes place.
The original Cardcaptor Sakura manga series was being published in Nakayoshi for almost four years, from May 1996 to June 2000, and Kodansha printed 12 volumes of the manga from November 1996 to July 2000. Tokyopop released the series in English in two editions and Dark Horse Comics later released the series in omnibus format.
An anime series created by Madhouse had been aired in Japan from April 1998 to March 2000. The first movie titled Cardcaptor Sakura: The Movie premiered in Japan in 1999 and the second one, Cardcaptor Sakura: The Sealed Card aired in 2000.
