New anime series comes for Gintama
The previous issue of Shueisha’ s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine hinted at "surprising news" for Gintama manga. The 43rd issue was officially released and announced that Gintama is getting new anime series. The magazine also stated that the manga is at the climax to the final story arc. Further information about the anime will leak in later issues of Weekly Shonen Jump.
Hideaki Sorachi launched Gintama in 2004 and it continues to be ranked among the top-selling manga in Japan. The first anime series was released in 2006 and it was completed in 2013 (with several hiatuses), while the second one premiered in April 2015 and it was completed last March. The story has also inspired two anime films, OVA, events, and a live-action film that will open in Japan in 2017.
