An Amazing Olympic Closing Ceremony in Rio
During the Olympic Closing Ceremony in Rio de Janeiro, we watched something that caused surprise and excitement not only to the anime fans, but to everyone as well. The Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe appeared in front of everyone cosplaying the well-known Mario.
In the beginning, we can see several Japanese athletes and a few characters from some anime and games (Captain Tsubasa, Doraemon, Hello Kitty, Pac-Man). Then, Shinzo Abe appears into a car, holding a red ball that was given to him by the athletes. Believing that he won't make it in time to Rio from Tokyo, he transforms into Mario, gets out of the car and starts running. On his way, he finds Doraemon, who helps him by using a pipe that drills through the Earth to Rio. Suddenly, a big green pipe appears at the center of the stadium in Rio. "Mario" thanks Doraemon and gets into the pipe. The sound of the game's level-clear plays and Shinzo Abe gets out of the pipe, cosplaying Mario.
