Most of them are known as some of the best anime series that have ever been released. So why did China ban them? The answer is simple. These anime series glorify violence, juvenile delinquency and terrorist attacks, while they contain sexual implications –and not only. The Chinese authorities have considered the bad influence that they may have to the children and teenagers. Well, they do have a good reason of putting them to the blacklist, but still, why must they prohibit adults or even the older teenagers from watching these amazing anime series?
The Senior Ministry official Liu Qiang has stated “The list is the result of evaluations by investigators, reviews by the ministry and the opinions of experts. It aims to guide websites in the proper review and importation of comics and animations.” The anime websites that will not agree to this decision will be fined or even lose their business licenses. But that doesn’t end there. It is said that a new list of Japanese banned anime will be released in the near future.
